New page

=== Diversity, Equity and Inclusion vs Whiteness, Unfairness, Exclusion ===

==== The Republican Party is the party of WUE. ====

By declaring itself opposed to diversity, equity and inclusion, the Republican Party has made itself advocates of whiteness, unfairness and exclusion. Their attempt to frame it as a stance against ideology, is an easy ruse to see through. The appeal of their propaganda is clearly emotional and ideological in nature. It is true DEI maybe ideological in its aspirations, but it is an effort towards what I think most people see as inherent problems with our society: racism, wealth disparities and the exclusion of historically disadvantaged groups.

The logic is very simple: by attacking one ideal you are actually promoting the opposing ideal. If the Republicans were proposing a neutral stance, that is they were ambivalent about race and color blind then why attack when they see diversity, claiming someone is unqualified if they are not a white male or they don't share the same point of view. Why do they fear different points of view and people that don't fit their own stereotypes. If the Republicans were proposing a neutral stance about equity then why do they advocate the advantaging of the wealthy (and the disadvantaging of lower income people) as the saviors and leaders of our economy. If the Republicans were neutral about including women, minorities and non-traditional gendering into the social fabric, then why do they promote policies which exclude them from participation. The inability to tolerate different points of views and different types of people exposes the ideology they hold close to their hearts but are reluctant to declare openly.

So the point is; by attacking DEI one is not trying to create a neutral field of play. One is actually promoting male whiteness, unfairness and exclusion by default; or WUE. Just because the Republicans don’t state their agenda openly doesn’t mean they don’t have an ideological agenda. The unspoken truth remains the truth.

Neutrality would be shown by a rational and pragmatic approach to problems, rather than an ideological approach. Ideology may be aspirational but those aspirations should be stated openly and clearly for all to see. Attacking the aspirations of others, exposes what your own aspirations are. It needs to be clearly stated that the Republicans aspire to whiteness, unfairness and exclusion. If they want to change their aspirations then they should propose policies as such. Until then, it should be said that Republicans are now the party of WUE.
