I Was a Diehard Pie Person—Until I Made This Cobbler
Tamale Pie
"I recently found out that I am severally anemic (sp) and in my last trimester. I am searching the internet for some recipes that use Farina (Cream of Wheat) in them to help with my iron intake."
Old-Fashion Oatmeal Pie
"This great pie recipe goes back over 100 years. The recipe came from my grandmother's grandmother who was living in Charleston, South Carolina during the 1860's. Family history has it, that during the Civil War, since pecans were in short supply in the South, oatmeal was substituted for the traditional pecan pie and the results were astonishing. Now served at every family gathering since that time."
Red Cherry Pie
"My recipe published by Southern Living. I found it about 30 years ago in a LHJ flyer on award winning recipes from country fairs. It's my favorite cherry pie recipe, and cherry pie's my favorite pie."
Chocolate Cream Pie
"This pie is so rich. It is so quick and easy. It is also enjoyed quick and easy. You must try this for your next Chocolate Pie. I HAVE to make it EVERY Thanksgiving, especially for son Kevin and son-in-law Dwain. My sister-in-law, Sherry, entered it in their 1996 church cookbook, "Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread", Wise County, Texas."
Pear Pie
"A sour cream custard and streusel mixture form the topping for the pear pie. This pie won in a local baking competition."
Taste of Mexico Pie
"Inspired by a cheeseburger pie recipe clipped from a magazine,I made this up while hungry for tacos. I didn't have any taco shells, so I used pie crust."
23 Comforting Shepherd's Pie Recipes
For a hearty, filling main dish, look no further than shepherd’s pie! With recipes varying from vegetarian to Italian to the traditional Irish style, we’ve got you covered.
Joe's Stone Crab Key Lime Pie
"I made this for my grandparent's 61st wedding anniversary recently. They lived in Florida in their youth, and loved Joe's Stone, and have lamented on occasion that they will never be able to go back (they now live in Virginia). The family rallied 'round and ordered the crab claws directly from Joe's, got a Joe's Stone Crab Cookbook, and prepared the rest of the meal directly from it. What a fantastic surprise it was... and this was a very sweet end to the night. NOTE: I was only able to find about 8 key limes, which wasn't enough juice. I supplemented with Nellie & Joe's Key Lime juice without a problem. Also, I thought the pie was so rich it didn't even need any whipped cream."
I thought no summer dessert was more quintessential than a golden, crispy-lidded pie, bubbling with juices. But that was before I tackled this cherry biscuit cobbler. I was thinking—really, hoping—that a great summer fruit dessert that didn’t require all the chilling, rolling, and assembly of pie must exist. After a couple of trials, I landed on a recipe that has it all: equal parts juicy cherries and fluffy, easy-to-assemble biscuits; plus tastes just as good fresh from the oven for dessert as it is cold for breakfast the next morning.
