Personally I like to grow stuff that is expensive (relatively) that I use infrequently. Sage, thyme, rosemary, chives. When a recipe calls for these it’s $5 a packet. If I have some space; a hot pepper. | |||
Secondly and for similar reasons I grow tomatoes. This isn’t the right planter for those. | |||
What I don’t plant? Onions, potatoes, carrots. They take 1/2 year to grow and they aren’t very expensive and they are easy to have on-hand in the kitchen. Lettuce: always dies on me, not that interesting anyway. Strawberries: pretty easy to buy when in season and they are good. Strawberry plant is a drooping PITA. | |||
