Laminate flooring (also called floating wood tile in the United States) is a multi-layer synthetic flooring product fused together with a lamination process. Laminate flooring simulates wood (or sometimes stone) with a photographic appliqué layer under a clear protective layer. The inner core layer is usually composed of melamine resin and fiber board materials. There is a European Standard No. EN 13329:2000 specifying laminate floor covering requirements and testing methods.

I have recently ripped the carpets up in my house to reveal a concrete subfloor that I don't believe is completely flat. I am wanting to lay a laminate floor on top of the concrete, but I'm unsure of which brand to go with. I had orignally wanted Pergo, but have heard that it echos badly and also scratches very easily. I have heard some good things about Nafco and was wondering if anyone had used it. I am intending to lay these floors myself, so ease of installation along with cost are big considerations. Any help in this matter would be much appreciated.
